Little brother

In the near future, Marcus is only 17 years old, but he thinks he knows everything about how the system works—including how to outwit it. Quick and internet-savvy, the boy has no problem outwitting the school's invasive—but not very intelligent—security systems. Among the small number of people he trusts, he is known by the pseudonym “w1n5t0n,” pronounced “Winston,” and not “dablio-one-ene-five-tê-zero-ene,” as some people who probe him as a hacker insist. But his life changes completely when he and his friends find themselves trapped after a massive terrorist attack in San Francisco. In the wrong place at the wrong time, Marcus and the others are arrested by the Department of Homeland Security and taken to a secret prison where they will be interrogated mercilessly for days on end. When they're finally released, Marcus discovers that the city is under martial law, and every citizen is treated as a potential terrorist. And his every move is being monitored by the Department. He knows no one will believe his story, so he has only one option: to take down the system with his own hands.
