THE AUTHOR: Andrea Camilleri, a theater, television, and radio director, published, "Um Fio de Fumaça" (A Thread of Smoke), by Bertrand Brasil. A professor of directing at the National Academy of Dramatic Art, he is the author of numerous essays on theatrical performances and a book, "Os teatros estás na Itália (1898-1918)." His first novel, written in 1978, was adapted into a television series titled "Con a mão nos olhos" (With the Hand in Our Eyes).
