Picking up the pieces

Olivia Harker grew up in the southern United States during a time of racial segregation and economic crisis. A sad and sensitive girl, rejected by her insane mother, she lost her beloved father and, later, her teenage love at a young age. Only when she became a grandmother years later, raising the grandson abandoned by her own daughter, was she able to unravel the dark mysteries of her childhood and find the determination to seek love, redemption, and justice.
