Friday or the limbos of the Pacific (Pocket Edition)

THE REINVENTION OF THE LEGENDARY ROBINSON CRUSOE After a shipwreck in which he is the sole survivor, Robinson finds himself on a deserted island in the Pacific. Realizing that despair is driving him mad, he decides to "colonize" the island with various objects recovered from the ship, establishing the kingdom of Speranza for himself, complete with laws, diaries, plantations, and routines. One day, a young savage, Friday, lands on the island. The two then establish a difficult relationship, fueled by power struggles and arguments over their different cultures. Friday, or the Limbos of the Pacific, highlights the individual cast aside from civilization, initially by factors beyond his control, then by the rise of his noblest desires.
