Hell's Bells (Vol. 2 The Adventures of Samuel John)

A continuation of the Samuel Johnson series that began with The Gates. Samuel Johnson is in trouble. His failing eyesight is causing him great embarrassment, and the demon Mrs. Abernathy has been thirsty for revenge ever since her plans to invade Earth were foiled by the young man. She plans to imprison him, and when the Large Hadron Collider is turned back on, opportunity knocks. Samuel and his faithful dachshund, Boswell, are dragged into the depths of Hell, where they will be hunted by Mrs. Abernathy and her infernal minions. But catching Samuel will be no easy feat for the demon, who has already witnessed firsthand the bravery and intelligence of the boy and his dog, as well as the loyal friendship between Samuel and the hapless demon Nurd. She also doesn't count on the presence of two incompetent police officers and an unlucky—in the most optimistic sense of the word—ice cream man. Nor could I have expected the intervention of a group of tiny beings who confirmed that Samuel and Boswell aren't the only inhabitants of Earth to suddenly end up in Hell.
