The Originals: Ascension (Vol. 1)

Created by Julie Plec, Ascension is inspired by the television series The Originals , a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries.

Ever since Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus Mikaelson arrived in New Orleans, nightlife has never been the same. The trio of Original vampires believe they've found refuge in the New World from the dark past that haunted them, but the city is about to undergo major transformations within its supernatural landscape.

Once divided by a bloody war between witches and werewolves, it seems New Orleans will find peace with a marriage between a member of each race.

The beautiful and mysterious Vivianne Lescheres, a witch and werewolf daughter, is the key to this alliance, which threatens the survival of the three vampire siblings—until now only tolerated by rival groups. But the worst eventually happens: the young bride attracts Klaus's attention.

Completely seduced, the youngest Mikaelson will allow no obstacle to stand between him and the stunning Vivianne. Not even the prospect of bloodshed will stand in his way of preventing this marriage he considers a mistake.
