Three crooked tigers

Tatiana Nascimento, a finalist for the 2022 Jabuti Poetry Prize, calls for thinking about other futures in her debut in literary prose.

What stories do the tiger women, the crooked women, the not-so-women keep? Stories about the wise ones; the whale-humans; those who know the secrets of many teas or the dreamlike weight of prophecies.

Born of desire and ruin, driven by the desire for ruin, these texts undoubtedly offer a new way of existing, of relating, and of expressing oneself. They open up new spaces for the imagination of who we are and who we can be. This is Latino, black, and twisted speculative fiction. A book that catapults today's desires to somewhere in the future.
