Broken lives

In San Francisco in 1963, the nature of a crime shocks local authorities: a body is found in City Hall, staining the steps of the historic building's marble staircase with a trail of blood. When journalist Samuel Hamilton arrives at the scene and Detective Bruno Bernardi is called in to lead the investigation, they have no idea they are about to become embroiled in an international web of intrigue. The crime proves to be just another piece in the complex puzzle of the turbulent geopolitics of the Middle East after World War II, and the two begin a relentless hunt for the brutal killer.
