World of Warcraft: The Rupture

From the same collection that began with Tides of War, The Shattering, the new volume of World of Warcraft, is another book that cements the partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, one of the largest developers of entertainment software on the market. The company is responsible for some of the most critically acclaimed games, such as the successful Warcraft, Starcraft, and Diablo. This new volume presents the events that are a prelude to the Cataclysm. And it all begins when, in the distant past, the powerful and hostile elemental spirits of Azeroth ravaged the world, until the benevolent titans imprisoned them on the Elemental Plane. Despite the titans' intervention, many of them returned to Azeroth. However, over time, shamans like Thrall, Warchief of the Horde and a wise and courageous leader, communed with these spirits and, with patience and dedication, learned to calm noisy discord. But now Thrall has discovered that they no longer heed the shamans' calls. Meanwhile, King Varian Wrynn of Stormwind is planning a violent action in response to rising tensions between the Alliance and the Horde, a hardline operation that threatens to alienate those closest to him, including his son, Anduin. The conflicted young prince must find his own path, but in doing so, he risks becoming trapped in the political instability that is bringing the world to a tipping point. The fate of Azeroth's great races is shrouded in uncertainty, and the troubling behavior of the elemental spirits seems to be the first ominous warning of the coming Cataclysm.
