Zerubbabel: Rebuilding the Temple is the second volume of the Temple Trilogy. The adventure begins in Joab: Diary of a Temple Builder , which tells the story of Joab, the orphaned son of a Phoenician soldier who doesn't understand why his uncle Jubal, the lame man, has elevated him to an enviable position among the merchants of Tyre. Seeking a god he can call his own, he finds himself trapped in an artificially created destiny, and finds his only refuge in the city of Jerusalem, where he works as a laborer on the construction of Solomon's Temple.

Readers of this volume are introduced to Zerubbabel, a young man from Great Baab'el, driven by his mission to rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem, his desires and his art, divided between a rich and powerful Babylonian Empire and a decadent Jerusalem forgotten even by the Great Architect of the Universe.
