The first book by award-winning author Joel Rufino dos Santos, published by Bertrand Brasil, "Clear Whispers of Celestial Winds" presents a series of fantastic narratives that intertwine intensely, creating a mosaic, an explosion of feelings and sensations, through important events that occurred between the 19th and 20th centuries. In the book, Joel Rufino invents that two of Brazil's greatest Black writers, Lima Barreto and Cruz e Sousa, met several times and that some of their characters, such as Policarpo Quaresma's Olga and Broquéis's Núbia, continue their lives in new times and places. It can be read as a historical novel about the São Paulo Revolution of 1932, modernism, the dead cities of the Paraíba Valley, the crisis of 1929. Or simply as an intense piece of fiction, in which the poetic style itself plays a role. One of the author's intentions with "Clear Whispers of Celestial Winds" is to awaken the reader's interest, without pretense, to discover a taste for fiction and the classics. To do this, it uses remarkable characters and stories that are mixed with relevant historical facts.
