Sinopse
The sequel to Once, the story told through the innocent and creative eyes of Felix, a 10-year-old boy trying to survive the horrors of the Holocaust. Felix is one of those characters who stick in your mind. A creative and clever 10-year-old boy, he struggles to survive one of the cruelest episodes in human history: the Holocaust. His story began in the book "Once," when he discovers his parents have left him in an orphanage and decides to run away in an attempt to reunite with his family. Along the way, in addition to many scares and dangers, Felix encounters Zelda, a 6-year-old girl he saves from a fire. In this volume, Felix and Zelda, after escaping from a train carrying Jews to a concentration camp in Poland, need courage, creativity, and luck to avoid being caught by the Nazis or dying of hunger or cold. This is a book that evokes emotion and tenderness as it narrates, from a child's perspective, the hardships of those who fought to survive the Holocaust. So, part of the desire to include a truly remarkable example: the story of people willing to risk everything to offer friendship and protection to a stranger. The first volume of the series received the 2018 National Foundation for Children's and Young Adult Books (FNLIJ) Award in the Translation/Adaptation category.
