I am They: Fragments

Francisco Azevedo, with his unmistakable style, takes on the roles of the characters and embodies them, showing himself to be intimately connected to them. After an excerpt from his first novel, O arroz de Palma, was shared online, and went viral on social media under the title “Family is a difficult dish to prepare,” Francisco Azevedo realized that, in literature, as well as in theater and cinema, there are several passages that can be read – and duly appreciated – outside the context in which they were originally inserted. In this book, "I Am They," a complex combination that required a good deal of patience and inspiration, the author offers readers various excerpts from his work, interspersed with revisited poems and previously unpublished texts, addressing a wide range of themes inherent to life and human relationships. Moving passages, which sometimes eloquently reveal him, are interwoven with his characters' lines, which are his own.
