Sinopse
In this novel, Francisco Azevedo returns to the theme of family, which made him famous in the bestseller O Arroz de Palma. The author delves into and delves into the intrinsic and universal nature of family units, which can belong to anyone – and here there are two neighboring families, living in semi-detached houses. What is experienced within them is one of the most beautiful and moving displays of human intimacy and one of its pillars, as fundamental as it is unwanted: secret archives, plots that lead people, men and women, parents and children, to choose silence under the same roof. A kind of generational novel, filled with great characters, "The New Residents" deals with coexistence and understanding diversity through the radical choice of dialogue and reflection. Only then does family tragedy give way to understanding, and love between individuals allows for the longed-for outcome: forgiveness.
