Sinopse
A play that portrays social inequality in an anthological way. Antonio Callado's first Black theater play, Pedro Mico, is set in a Rio de Janeiro community in the 1950s and tells the story of Pedro, a Rio de Janeiro scoundrel wanted by the police for robbery. Although written in 1957, the work remains relevant in its approach to social and racial inequality. The contrast between the favela and the South Zone is so striking that Dom Hélder Câmara, at the time, spoke out against the play's performance, believing it could provoke a revolt among community residents against the wealthy.
