Mirian Goldenberg nasceu em Santos, São Paulo. Desde 1978 mora no Rio de Janeiro. É antropóloga e professora do Departamento de Antropologia Cultural e do Programa de Pós-graduação em Sociologia e Antropologia do Instituto de Filosofia e Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
