Natalie always wanted to be a principal dancer in a major ballet company. After leaving a turbulent relationship and finding herself alone in London, dance becomes her only solace. Frustrated with her stagnant career and a social life as frozen as a Russian winter, she resigns by email, insulting some directors in the process.

With few options left, Natalie accepts an invitation to apply for a position with the Canadian Ballet Company and moves in with her cousin, Nick, in Toronto. Moving back in with him would be perfect, if it weren't for the hassle of sharing an apartment with Lucas Allen More, the captain of the hockey team and Nick's best friend.
