Marcia Tiburi

Betty Friedan (1921-2006) foi psicóloga, jornalista e ativista estadunidense, cofundadora da Organização Nacional para as Mulheres (NOW) e uma das primeiras líderes do movimento pelos direitos das mulheres nas décadas de 1960 e 1970. Ajudou a fundar associações pró-escolha e foi cofundadora do Núcleo Político Nacional da Mulher, ao lado da feminista Gloria Steinem. Por meio dessas organizações, Friedan teve grande influência na mudança de leis ultrapassadas, como práticas sexistas de contratação, desigualdade salarial de gênero e discriminação na gravidez.

Naomi Wolf tornou-se um grande nome da chamada “terceira onda” feminista com seu primeiro Best seller, O mito da beleza, que avalia e dá continuidade às conquistas do movimento e aprofunda discussões antigas.
