Sinopse
The new novel from the author of How to Talk to a Fascist. A museum hat check employee, Klaus lives alone in an old apartment in Berlin's Turkish neighborhood. After years of no contact with his family in Brazil and a sleepless night, he calls his sister, Agnes, who, amidst trivialities, reveals that his father has been dead for months. From this discovery, Klaus is left to wonder whether to return to his birthplace and evaluate the reasons why he chose to stay away, or to remain and deal with his foreignness, his difficulty with the German language, his stutter, and the sexually confusing body configuration that afflicts him. In a context of tireless meditation on ethical and emotional issues, Marcia Tiburi develops the questions of an anguished narrator in constant flight, but who finds, in a surprising way out, a sign to move on with his life.
