Sinopse
The True Brazilian Revolution (Editora José Olympio) is a collection of studies and other contributions presented at the Special Forum held by the National Institute of Advanced Studies (INAE) in Rio de Janeiro in September 2007. João Paulo dos Reis Velloso, coordinator of the volume alongside Roberto Cavalcanti de Albuquerque, considers the integration of development and democracy to be the core of the true Brazilian revolution. Since there is no necessary relationship between these two processes, a national effort will be required for development to occur in a way that favors democracy and for democracy to function in a way that supports development. The National Forum sees in this interaction synergies capable of more rapidly driving the country's modernization. The volume contains texts by Patrus Ananias, Antônio Francisco de Lima Neto, Marcio Pochmann, Sonia Rocha, Fernando Haddad, Luciano Martins, Octavio Amorim Neto, Ideli Salvatti, Antonio Carlos Pannunzio, Demóstenes Torres, Jefferson Peres, Aldo Rebelo, and Leôncio Martins Rodrigues.
