Kissing Christians and the Twilight of the Gods shows how Christianity expanded after the arrival of Christ (the Messiah). Kissing was one of the most common characteristics in nascent Christianity. It analyzes how the interaction of this doctrine, with Jewish roots, with Greek and Roman culture, barbarian peoples, and classical Islam led to the formation of Western Civilization. From the moment the "Dark News" announcing the Messiah was spread, the Empire was shaken. Thus, Christianity became universal and gained freedom of worship through Constantine the Great. At the same time, the trend toward the Twilight of the Gods (Greek and Roman) was gaining ground, which, in the cultural dimension, led non-Christian leaders to claim that the new religion had led the gods to lose interest in the fate of society. However, the advantage of a belief in which the Kingdom was not of this world was that it did not aim to guarantee a State or Culture, as pagan religions had done. And to be, in fact, in a position to reconcile one with another. To this end, the apostles, especially Paul, created churches and performed miracles. In this context, there is a discussion about the beginning of the tradition: the first Christians, men and women, had the habit of kissing on the mouth during worship. The kiss was a way of expressing love among Christians and communion in the Holy Spirit, which connected one person to another and, ultimately, produced a unified social body. The essence of the book, therefore, lies in the simultaneity of a "World that is born" (Christianity, becoming universal) and a "World that is dying" (the Roman Empire, which, by 380 AD, was tending toward decline).
