Luiz Antonio Simas (Rio de Janeiro, 1967) é escritor, professor e historiador, mestre em história social pela UFRJ. Tem mais de 15 livros publicados. Recebeu o Prêmio Jabuti de Livro do Ano de Não Ficção 2016 com Dicionário da história social do samba, que escreveu em parceria com Nei Lopes, publicado pela Civilização Brasileira.
