Sinopse

The stars always tell the truth... Chilean writer Isabel Allende, author of bestsellers such as The House of the Spirits , The Island Beneath the Sea and The City of Beasts, makes her debut in the crime genre in this The Ripper's Game : A novel full of intrigue, humor and irony.

Ripper is an innocent game involving five participants from different countries, brought together via Skype, to solve criminal puzzles. The game's master is Amanda Martin, a San Francisco native and a fanatic of macabre novels.

Divorced, her parents, Bob Martin and Indiana Jackson, do not look favorably on their daughter's hobby, but she prefers to spend most of her time with her grandfather, Blake Jackson, who encourages her passion for noir literature.

Bob is the chief inspector of the city's Homicide Department, and Indiana works at the Holistic Clinic, treating a wide variety of patients - among them, a skeptical man who is secretly and madly in love with this lovely woman.

When a school security guard is murdered and a series of mysterious deaths begins to occur in San Francisco, the five players in Ripper become involved in the cases. They soon realize that the crimes appear to have been committed by the same killer.

But what was supposed to be mere entertainment becomes a matter of life and death when Amanda realizes the serial killer's noose is closing in on someone she loves. A vicious plan, premeditated down to the last detail, is about to come to fruition.
