Sinopse
Commemorative edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the work that established Tezza as one of the leading figures of a new generation of Brazilian writers in the 1980s. On an ordinary evening, retired professor Manuel receives a strange visit and an unusual request: a common-looking boarding house owner delivers two packages containing originals by a young poet, a marginalized and suicidal individual. The woman wants Manuel to read the works of Trapo, the artist in question, and decide if they are valuable. Enraptured by the enchantment of the situation, the professor realizes that reading alone is insufficient and begins to investigate the young man's motives for suicide. He seeks out friends, interviews people, speaks with the boy's father, and tries to find young Rosa, to whom Trapo addresses his letter-poems. In this work, Tezza shows extreme skill in weaving together the narrative led by Manuel and Trapo's crazy letters into the novel.
