Sinopse
The book brings together texts that analyze the consequences of the major global economic and political transformations observed in recent decades in Latin America and, more specifically, in Brazil. The theme of democracy, central to Fernando Henrique Cardoso's work, is intertwined with his reflections on economic growth, development, and power relations. In this book, the economic trajectories of different countries are investigated, but not exhaustively or limited to their greater or lesser integration into the global market. A dialectic is at play, and what matters are the strategic economic, political, and social objectives.
