Sinopse

Ernest Hemingway's final novel published during his lifetime, The Old Man and the Sea, has been reissued with a hardcover, three-sided painting, and a new graphic design. It also includes exclusive bonus texts by Daniel Puglia, Ferdinando de Oliveira, and Roberto Taddei about the author's life and work.

After years of fishing, old Santiago hadn't caught a single fish in 84 days. But he was brave, he believed in himself, and he set out alone on the high seas, certain that this time he would succeed. What he didn't know was that he would catch the fish that would change his life.

The Old Man and the Sea presents us with a man who lives with solitude, with his dreams and thoughts, with his struggle for survival, and who has an unshakable confidence in life.

With a tense plot that keeps the reader guessing, Ernest Hemingway wrote one of the most beautiful works of contemporary literature. A story that conveys a message of faith in humanity and its ability to overcome the limitations life imposes on us.

With simple yet powerful language, in this magnificent 20th-century classic, Hemingway addresses universal and timeless themes such as perseverance in the face of adversity and the lessons we can learn from defeat.

Written in 1952, The Old Man and the Sea confirmed his power and presence in the literary world, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and being a decisive factor in Hemingway's awarding of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954.

An essential book for any classics library, The Old Man and the Sea is the story of an epic struggle, a thrilling clash, in which belief in oneself is the only thing that matters.

"Here is the master once again at the top of his game, doing splendidly what he can do better than anyone else." - The New York Times
