Sinopse
Collection of chronicles by Carlos Drummond de Andrade in a commemorative edition celebrating the 75th anniversary of Grupo Editorial Record. In a commemorative edition celebrating the 75th anniversary of Grupo Editorial Record, this collection of chronicles by Carlos Drummond de Andrade, selected by Fernando Py, is re-released with a new cover and booklet containing photos and a selection of previously unpublished correspondence between the poet and Alfredo Machado, founder of the Group. With his usual tender and bitter feeling toward life's absurdities and beauty, Drummond perfectly and elegantly records facts from daily life and Brazilian politics, the deaths of friends, nature, literature, and even a humorous and reasonably condescending self-portrait: "Mr. Carlos Drummond de Andrade is a reasonable prose writer who thinks he's a good poet, but in this he's deluded. As a prose writer, he wrote some chronicles and short stories that reveal a certain knowledge of graceful forms of expression, a certain humor and mischief."
