Sinopse
In this sensitive Book of Hours, Nélida Piñon generously and movingly combines her masterful storytelling ability with her most valuable asset: memory. Early in the narrative, she announces, "I have not lived without results; my life has not been inhospitable," and the pages that follow prove the strength and veracity of this powerful proclamation. And the fruit of this, as Eduardo Portella aptly describes, is a book "aware that the hours do not pass in vain." A masterful book by the most important contemporary Brazilian writer. In a moving and sensitive narrative, Nélida relives affective memories that emerge from a dizzying whirlwind of memories and emotions. And with each page, the reader becomes clear that regardless of her experience or the richness of her memories, her love story has always been one: with words. "Literature of the highest quality. The Amazonian dimension of Nélida Piñon's imagination elevates her to the status of genius." — Publishers Weekly"Nélida Piñon appears, without question, to have one of the greatest temperaments in Brazilian literature, never hesitating to engage in all forms of struggle to console her originality" — Le Monde
