Actresses hold a special place in the emotional memory of the columnist and self-proclaimed founder of the "Society of Madmen in Love with Greta Garbo." Fascinated by the Swedish artist, Drummond indulges in "fan delirium," inventing a visit by Garbo to Belo Horizonte, complete with dialogues and encounters that never actually took place. Regarding Marlene Dietrich, he says: "For me, she wasn't born: she just appeared." In the poet's pantheon, there's also a special place for Bette Davis, Ingrid Bergman, Romy Schneider, and Catherine Deneuve, among other stars.

Formed in the seats of the Odeon in the capital of Minas Gerais, the writer also turns his gaze to Brazilian cinema, sometimes concerned with the paths of film production (public policies, ticket prices, censorship, the beginning of the disappearance of street theaters, etc.), sometimes praising directors like Joaquim Pedro de Andrade and Glauber Rocha. And, of course, writing generously about our Brazilian divas, like Fernanda Montenegro and Sônia Braga.

Carlos Drummond de Andrade nasceu em Itabira, Minas Gerais, em 1902. Poeta, contista e cronista, foi autor, entre outros, de Alguma poesia, Brejo das almas, Sentimento do mundo, Claro enigma, Fazendeiro do ar e Fala, amendoeira, e é considerado um dos maiores nomes da poesia brasileira do século XX. Faleceu no Rio de Janeiro, em 1987, aos 84 anos.
