Sinopse

In the year marking the centenary of writer Raquel de Queiroz's birth, the immortal's autobiography, co-written with her sister, Maria Luiza de Queiroz, hits bookstores. First published in 1988, TANTOS ANOS brings together the two sisters' distinct versions of events that marked the life of the author of classics such as Memorial de Maria Moura. To write the book, the sisters used a mix of recorded accounts, texts, profiles, and previously published chronicles. Despite the intimate tone, they did not aim to compose a rigorous biography in detail. They chose to commit themselves only to "not lying," omitting what they deemed necessary. The sisters' decision is far from disadvantaging the reader. A brilliant chronicler, Raquel de Queiroz uses her usual simplicity and grace to speak of her family, friends, her move to Rio de Janeiro, and her passion for her farm in Quixadá, in the Ceará hinterland. The publication also includes an insert featuring several photos of the journalist and writer's family.
